Classes and asignments will be handled much as they were in Music 171. We plan to assign five exercises, a midterm and a final.

Preliminary list of topics (about one per week):

1. amplitudes and frequencies, controls and signals

2. wavetable oscillators and samples

3. sequencers and envelope generators

4. PWM and filtering

5. Graphics in Pd using GEM

6. delays and delay effects

7. amplitude and frequency modulation

8. nonlinear techniques and waveshaping

9. control techniques: analysis tools

10. control techniques: timing
