This is a continuation of Music 171. There will be five assignments over the first weeks of the quarter, for 15 points each; then a final project worth 25 points. Final projects may be presented to class during the exam period, Monday, June 9, 3 - 6 p.m.

Preliminary list of topics (between two and four meetings per topic):

1. Frequency domain processing in Pd (continuation of this topic from 171; we'll follow book chapter 7 for complex numbers and then chapter 9 for the FFT stuff). Assignment 1 was due April 22 (delayed from April 17).

2. programming in Pd: decisions, loops, interactivity. (not in book!) Assignment 2 is due May 1 (fifth Thursday). Here are this week's examples .

3. wavetables, waveshaping, modulation and nonlinearity (book chapters 2 and 5). Here are more examples . Assignment 3 is due May 15.

4. delays and filters (book chapters 7 and 8). More examples . Assignment 4 is due May 29.

5. Gem (graphics rendering in Pd). Assignment 5 is due Monday of finals week.
