This course is an introduction to the rich tradition of electronic "art music" from the year 1948 to the present.

Lectures are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:10 in Mandeville B202; additional discussion sessions are led by the teaching assistant. Reading assignments are from the course reader available from Soft Reserves; listening materials are on reserve in the Music Library. Here are the listening tape contents.

There will be in-class tests on Oct. 20 and Nov. 17 and a final exam; a 5-10 page paper is due Nov. 24.
