Reality Test: a Pure Data patch to verify realizations of electronic music
pieces. Availble from msp.ucsd.edu under "tools". Documentation is in the doc/
subdirectory.

You will need Pure Data to use this package. What's more, you will find Reality
Check much better suited to verifying Pd realizations than ones that use other
environments. There are nonetheless instructions in the documentation for
using an included tool for checking Max realizations, in case you really want to
do that instead.

A simple example that should succeed (run these commands from this directory):

pd -batch -nosound -nrt -noprefs -r 44100 \
   -send "run-batch simple simple/simple-script.txt simple/simple.pd" \
        1.reality.pd

and one that should fail:

pd -batch -nosound -nrt -noprefs -r 44100 \
   -send "run-batch simple simple/simple-script-fail.txt simple/simple.pd" \
        1.reality.pd

on MacOS, replace "pd" with a pointer to the Pd app, for instance:
"/Applications/Pd.app/Contents/Resources/bin/pd". Similarly on Windows,
replacing "pd" with [dunno]\bin\pd.com .

Examples that use Reality Check to verify the correct behavior of real pieces can be downloaded from the same website this file came from.
